My dearest Holly,
It is just a little over two weeks now that you have been potty training for. And I’m so proud at how well and quickly you have come along since I wrote Why won’t my toddler take the plunge and start potty training .
I was given a lot of good advice on this post, but in the end it all came down to you, my clever little princess.
So here’s how you got on sweetheart.
Week One :
Oh gosh this was hard work for the both of us. As it seemed we spent all day rushing back and forth to the potty.
At the start you were averaging around three accidents a day *if I’m not mistaken*. Which I have to admit is pretty good, and as you weren’t quite ready to give up your nappies cleaning you up was pretty easy.
By mid week you had taken to telling me you needed to use your potty training *potty* and we were racing each other to it. You were rewarded with a sticker and a chocolate coin every time used your potty. Which really pleased you.
Saturday went out looking for a portable/travel potty for you to use whilst we were out and about. Unfortunately we never managed to get the one you were after and after you using the big girls toilet, we abandoned looking for one.
By Saturday afternoon you were using froggy on the toilet and it was bye bye potty. YES!
Week two :
Has been a breeze. You’re more confident about using the toilet and you have ditched your nappies for pull ups too.
This week you have had only one accident *well done sweetheart*!
You have also taken to trying to wipe yourself and to helping flush the toilet.
Trips to the toilet are not as often now. As you have got knowing, when you need the toilet down to a fine art.
It won’t be long now until you are wearing panties like a big girl.
Well done Holly mommy and daddy are so very proud of you!
