I feel like the worst mother ever!

Yesterday afternoon on our way to collect Ella from school at four o’clock.

Holly and I stopped to play at the peek-a-boo wall. We played peek-a-boo behind it just as we had many a times before. We were having fun. I sat her on the wall and even snapped a few pictures. Then I stood her up on it to snap a few more. Holly decided mid snap that she was going to sit back down.

That’s when it all went terribly wrong. *Just thinking about it now fills my eyes with tears yet again*.

Holly miss judged how far back she was and as she sat down she fell backwards off the wall. I threw my camera in an attempt to catch her, but it was all in vain. There was nothing I could do to catch her even though it was all happening in slow motion too.

I have known idea how but I managed to jump over the wall. But I was picking her off of the tarmac floor only moments after she had hit it.

Seeing my baby girl lying there crying sent me to pieces.

A woman passing by at the time who witnessed it happening. Stopped to pick up my camera and see if Holly was alright. I was in such a state that I can’t even recall if I thanked her. I’m ninety percent sure I did.

I then phoned John in a state of shock and total panic. He told me to go and collect Ella, and that he’d be there shortly to take Holly to A&E. Not long after Ella had come out of the classroom doors, then John arrived.

We then quickly bundled the girls into the car and then popped back home for John’s wallet. As we told Holly we were popping to the shops quickly for custard creams. It was the only way we could get her to A&E, as she has developed a dislike for doctors and even A&E.

Yes we stopped at Tesco which is just by A&E to butter our sweet little princess up, for what we were about to spring on her.

Even during check in she still believed we were there for someone else. The girls played happily with the toys in the children’s waiting room. I think we were there for two hours before Holly was finally called in.

The doctor checked her over and gave her the all clear. Telling us to keep a close eye on her for the next 48 hours. She then printed out a head injury pamphlet and gave the girls each a sticker before sending us on our way.

Our princess seems to be fine apart from a big bump on the back of her head. As for mommy well I feel beyond terrible.
