Last Saturday we drove out to Halifax to Explore Manor Heath Park/Manor Heath Jungle Experience.
Unfortunately when we got there there it decided to start drizzling. With two very eager explores we continued on our adventure without a second thought. We thought we’d start off with the Jungle Experience as it was indoors, however they didn’t accept cards. So we headed off towards the playground.
Where our girls automatically decided to let themselves in and do there own thing. So we indulged them and followed them into the playground.
With it still drizzling on and off and the playground all wet, we did ask the girls to be careful. However after being in the playground a few minutes their ears just suddenly stopped working. Much to my annoyance! At one point Holly even acquired a timeout on a bench. In the end I got so fed up I said “that’s it we’re leaving” and with that we left the playground.
On the way back to the car not only did the girls behaviour improve, but so did my mood. So John and I decided that instead of driving home, we’d drive to tesco to get something to eat and of course whilst we were there we’d get some cash back too.
We had a little picnic in the car in the car park before heading back to Manor Heath Park.
With cash in our pockets we headed to off to do the Jungle Experience. As the weather still hadn’t improved.
Once inside the humidity hit us. Oh gosh it was so humid in there that even my camera lense kept fogging up. When we got to the pond we all had to take our coats and jumpers off as the humidity was just too much. The girls sat beautifully at the pond whilst John and I took it in turns to snap a few pictures. All whilst the girls sat admiring the beautiful waterlilies and koi.
After leaving the pond we made our way around to where the orchids were, and they didn’t disappoint they were absolutely gorgeous.
A little further down the way we spotted our first two terrapins of the day. They were off to the right hand side of us close to the waters edge. Ella and Holly seemed to be rather taken and intrigued by them. They sat patiently and silently watching them for a little bit as I took a few pictures.
Once I had finished photographing the terrapins John and I switched places once again. So whilst John photographed the terrapins I kept a watchful eye on the girls. Unfortunately some how between John snapping his next shot of the terrapins and Holly holding onto a rope next to him. John’s phone took a little dip with the terrapins. Luckily the S7 Edge is water proof and with John quickly retrieving it, it appears to have suffered no ill effects.
With John’s phone safely in his hands, being dried off we moved on to the next part which consisted of butterflies and yet more terrapins.
It was in this section that Holly decided to try and stroke one of the terrapins.Thankfully I warned her not to touch it just in a nick of time *pheew*!! However this didn’t stop Holly from crawling across the bridge next to them.
When she finally got up off of the bridge we continued on the last stretch of the jungle experience looking at the butterflies.
Upon exiting the jungle experience we went to explore the Walled Garden. It was in here that Ella’s and Holly’s imagination took on a life of its own as they pretended to be Lily Bobtail and Lily Bobtail’s mother. It was really something to watch their imagination unfold as I snapped away.
The girls loved every minute they were in the Walled Garden and as did we. That was until the rain came pouring down quite heavily and we retreated to the car.
