Last weekend’s family outing saw us visiting East Park in Kingston upon Hull.

East Park offers a wide variety of things to do from the boating on the boating lake, a miniature train ride, to an animal education centre, as well a little zoo and a wonderful walk through aviary.

We started off at the zoo. Where there were free roaming chickens, roosters and peacocks wondering around aimlessly.

The peacocks were simply gorgeous.

There were goats, a sheep, a horse, wallabies and deers in various enclosure too.

Before entering the walk in aviary  there were, parrots, cockatiels and not to mention cockatoos which the girls absolutely loved.

Ella and Holly had so much fun saying hello to the cockatoos and then listening to them returning the said hellos! The girl’s reactions were just priceless.

The walk through aviary was simply splendid! There were gorgeous birds flying right above our heads. Oh and lets not forget about the ones playing a crazy game of chase above our heads and running randomly across the footpaths, just in front of our feet.

John and I could have quite happily spent hours in here photographing these magnificent beauties. Unfortunately Holly was tiring of the aviary and all she wanted to do was go on a train ride.

So with that we exited the aviary and finished the last part of the zoo. Where the wallabies were. We even managed to spot a baby wallabie inside its mother’s pouch. It wasn’t to long before the baby wallabie came out for a little look about.

Sadly I wasn’t quick enough and only managed to capture it once it had already plopped out lol.

Before exiting the little zoo we all stopped off at the wash station to clean our hands before heading off for the train ride.

The girls and I boarded the train whilst John went to go and pay for our tickets. It took the lady a little while before she could get the train running again. All the while the the girls sat waiting ever so patiently. Holly loved every minute of being on the train and had the cheesiest little grin on her face practically the whole train ride.

Once the ride came to an end we took the girls for a quick toilet break. Before letting them loose in the playground where they had even more fun.

We spent quite some time in the playground before setting off for home.
